Fall Pet Fest |
| Lee County Animal Services, the
Humane Society of Collier County, and Collier County Domestic Animal Services
teamed up to host the third annual Fall Pet Fest at Lee County Animal Services'
shelter. The goal was to increase awareness for the need to find homes for
the area's orphaned pets and to educate pet owners on proper pet ownership,
including the importance of spaying and neutering. In the process, a fun day
of activities was provided. |

| Pet owners and their pets had an opportunity to visit many shelters and rescue organizations from Lee, Collier and Hendry Counties and the wonderful animals they have for adoption. Vendors including veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters, pet specialty stores and more were on hand to offer the latest in pet products and services. | |

It was a sunny day but, "Gilmore" was ready for any kind of weather and "Kenya" sported a blue boa and matching hat in the fashion show. Outfits, provided by Dudley's Dog Bakery and Boutique, were modeled by shelter and rescue pets! |

Emcee, Rick McGee from Oldies 95, entertained the crowd while his morning show partner, Chuck Morgan, conferred with the other contest judges, David Sutta of NBC-2, Bay Scroggins of ABC-7, and Stephanie Davis, the New-Press's Downtown Diva! Chuck and Rick also did a fantastic job making announcements for us and spinning some tunes to entertain the crowd! |

Many informative, educational and just plain fun demonstrations were presented throughout the day. Flyball, agility, and dog obedience demonstrations were among highlights that attendees enjoyed. Wild Ones Animal Encounter showed wild animals living at their sanctuary that have been injured or abused and cannot be released back into the wild. |
