4th Annual Fall Pet Fest
October 23, 2004

Lee County Animal Services, the Humane Society of Lee County, the Humane Society of Collier County, and the Lee County Animal Care Trust teamed up to host the fourth annual Fall Pet Fest at Lee County Animal Services' shelter.  The goal was to increase awareness for the need to find homes for the area's orphaned pets and to educate pet owners on proper pet ownership, including the importance of spaying and neutering.   In the process, a fun day of activities was provided.

Pet owners and their pets had an opportunity to visit many shelters and rescue organizations from Lee, Collier and Hendry Counties and the wonderful animals they have for adoption.  Vendors including veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters, pet specialty stores and more were on hand to offer the latest in pet products and services.

Many pets brought their owners along to enter them in four of the different pet contests.  Some of the owners joined the fun too!

The crowd enjoyed the array of pets that modeled the latest fashions from Dudley's Dog Bakery and Boutique at this year's
 Pet Fashion Show.

Attendees enjoyed food, music and lots fun just partaking in the day's activities including a visit with veterinarians and having their pets implanted with nationally registered Microchip Pet IDs.

Many informative, educational and just plain fun demonstrations were presented throughout the day.  Flyball, agility, and dog obedience demonstrations were among highlights that attendees enjoyed.   Potential adopters also met dogs in training through the Cell Dog Program, a cooperative effort by Lee County Animal Services, the Lee County Sheriff's Dept. and Companion Dog Training Center.

Please join us next October 15th, 2005 for the 5th Annual Fall Pet Fest!
