How to Participate in the Doggy Dash
Easy Tips & Guidelines

  • Registration the day of the event is from 10 am until noon.  The registration table will be set up in the area by the Puma and Eddie Bauer stores at Miromar Outlets or you may register at any of the check point locations throughout the walk route.
  • Walkers will receive a map of the walk route at registration.
  • Teams or individuals may walk anytime from 11 am to 2 pm.
  • There is no fee to register but walkers are encouraged to raise a minimum of $75 through pledges.  Print a Pledge Form or pick one up at Lee County Domestic Animal Services (LCDAS).
  • Individual walkers and teams are encouraged to create a Pledge site online at www.firstgiving.com/actf.  This is an easy way for friends, family members, and colleagues to find your site online and make donations by credit card.  Online donations will automatically be credited to you and sent to the Animal Care Trust Fund.  Click this link to Instructions on how to create your own online site.
  • If you would like to raise pledges to help the cause but won't be able to walk the day of the event, just turn in the pledges you have collected at the shelter, 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers.  We greatly appreciate your efforts!
  • Anyone who wishes to walk without raising pledges may do so for a $20 fee collected at the registration table the day of the event.
  • All walkers will receive a VIP Bag with coupons for savings from stores in Miromar Outlets plus other goodies.  Walkers will receive Miromar Outlets gift cards for raising the following amounts or more in pledges:
    $100 = $10 gift card
    $250 = $25 gift card
    $500 or more = $50 gift card
  • How to Raise $300 in a WeeK:  Day 1 - Begin by putting in your own donation of $25; Day 2 - Ask 2 family members to sponsor you for $25 each; Day 3 - Ask your employer to donate $25 to our cause; Day 4 - Ask 5 friends to pledge $10 each; Day 5 - Ask 5 co-workers to pledge $10 each; Day 6 - Ask 4 neighbors to pledge $10 each; Day 7 - Ask 3 businesses to donate $20 each.
  • All dogs must have a current pet license.
  • All dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet (no retractable leashes).
  • No aggressive dogs or dogs in heat are allowed.
  • Walkers will receive a card at registration on the day of the event which may be stamped at each check point along the walk route. Walkers who have their cards stamped at all check points will be eligible for a prize drawing.
  • You may also collect clues at each check point and make a guess as to the identity of our mystery animal?  Correct answers will be entered for a prize drawing.
